If we’re blessed with beauty and fragrance of flowers,
Why should we worry about the thorns they have?
If the soothing light of the moon greets us every night,
Why should we worry unnecessarily about its stains?
If we have so many reasons to glow with happiness,
Why should we worry about our depressed moments?
If we have so many sweet and priceless memories,
Why should we worry about weight of ego others carry?
If present is there to explore so many new things in life,
Why should we worry about our past stupid mistakes?
If our own hearts are brimming with love for others,
Why should we worry about what they have in their hearts?
If we enjoy the blessings from so many loved ones,
Why should we worry about those who can’t understand us?
If we have pretty people and mother nature around us,
Why should we worry about what we don’t have?

Agree that worrying takes away all that beauty. That said, I find that my natural tendencies are towards pessimism rather than optimism, or even just living in the moment enjoying the beauty. It’s not a great habit, but it’s difficult to change

Thank you, JYP. I agree that it’s difficult to change, but it’s said that if one tends to think of good things, he or she gets positive results. There is also a saying, “as you think, so shall you become.”

Dear Kaushal, what a wonderful video!! BIG THANK YOU! My birds love the sweet cherries and I leave this tree to them., I just must not stand close by, because the pips from the fruit fall down like rain. To answer this eternal question, I can only think of Goethe’s answer: “We are here to wonder”
And your video illustrates this beautifully, as indeed do your poem’s words.
As our planet is exquisitely special, we must protect and cherish her before is too late to reverse our destructive actions. Birds know better!

So true, Joanna, we must do the needful to save the earth before it’s too late. But I agree that birds come to know about impending calamities like earthquake well in advance. I’m happy how you treat your plants and birds. You’re a true nature lover. Thank you so much for appreciating the poem and video. It means a lot!

Good point, Priti. I think we all worry at times, that’s natural, but excess of anything is bad. If today is wasted in yesterday and tomorrow, today is also ruined. Thank you for sharing your thoughts 😊

What an amazing poem brimming with wisdom. Every line a beautiful gift. I was just telling my husband how the birds had been singing all day. Then I clicked on your video what a beautiful treat. I loved all the birds but got a kick out of the woodpecker coming out of the hole with a mouth full of wood. Thank you so much KK. What a perfect ending to a wonderful day. Big hugs 🤗
