The Nature’s Plunder

Butterflies whisper sweet nothings to flowers,
but we break their union
and catch them for a momentary pleasure..

beautiful flowers turn to us with fragrance,

but we pluck them to make them servile…

Our bluetooth enabled ears
don’t appreciate the melodious humming
of little creatures
we encage them to decorate and devour…

We have not learnt anything from the rivers
that give their body soils and water,
we have not learnt from the trees
that don’t eat their own fruits…

Nothing in the nature lives for itself
living for each other is the rule of the nature
but our nature is not to learn,
we make our own abrupt rules to follow
the self first –
now and right now
shortcut measures
breaking all norms and rules
to grab as much and as quickly as possible…

We break mountains,
we change the course of rivers,
we cut trees mercilessly
but make artificial rains
by way of cloud seeding
by giving clouds electric shocks…

We engage in all sorts of activities
that lead to ozone depletion
and global warming
but try to cool the planet
by reflecting the sunlight
through stratospheric aerosol injection…

Just going on and on with nature’s plunder
but whatever we wish to give to ourselves
comes back in the forms of sobs,
drenched with tears and tremors,
realised with a lag, but sure…

If we could see
the spring in the nature’s love,
and the wounds inflicted thereon
both outside and hidden inside..
if we could learn
that our greatness is
not what we have, but what we give..
if we could learn
to give love for love
by keeping our head in the nature’s lap
returning its love and affection..

Our mother nature
wouldn’t have seen
the days she is in,
drained of strength
with her impaired pride..
but let’s remember one thing
even a mother stops feeding her baby
when the baby starts biting her...
