      1. My guess is that the middle armrest goes to the person with the sharpest elbow and strong forearm muscles. I moved from my middle seat to an aisle seat and was forced to move back to the middle seat when a deadheading flight attendant took the aisle seat. (A flight crew member deadheads when they fly back to their home base for free without working the flight.) She tried to shove my right arm off the armrest for several minutes–I out lasted her because she might have had a right to the seat, but I was determine to have the armrest.
