What is the difference between
I like you
and
I love you?

Someone beautifully answered it:

When you like a flower,
you just pluck it;

And when you love a flower,
you water it daily..

One believes in possession, while the other in veneration.

One who likes may harm unknowingly for own happiness;
but one who loves will never harm despite getting harmed for your happiness.

And the eternal truth is that love is not hereditary. It can be learnt by loving only.
