We look at the cover of a book
and guess what is written inside,
we see the face of a person
and read what’s in mind and heart,
we see tears trickling down a face
and guess either grief or happiness,
both sunrise and sunset look similar, but we guess based on direction and time…
Mind calculations are so easy and quick
from our own perspectives
raising a feeling of love, hatred
or even indifference
but is the life so simple?
words and their meanings
may look macro or micro
but feelings are always small
that can be felt only…

A gentle touch or comforting voice turns tears and sobs into smile,
the flower blooms
if we learn to give love,
like the salt that adds taste to the food
but remains invisible…
Haggling goes on ceaselessly
between giving and taking
between life and dreams
over happiness
that actually lies in the roots
deep inside the soil
unknown and unsung
to keep the leaves and flowers
evergreen…

Gorgeous poem, KK! “happiness that actually lies in the roots deep inside the soil to keep the leaves and flowers evergreen.” Lovely! The illustration of Mother Earth is stunning! (I assume she’s Mother Earth. 🙂 ) Wishing you a happy day!

Thanks a lot, Cheryl for your kind words of appreciation. You’re right, the picture is of Mother Earth holding the roots tightly. Have a great day 😊💖

This wonderfully philosophical essay on the essence of life, Kaushal, is breathtakingly poignant and true as if it was written by the ancient guru
Also, thank you for the stunning pictures!
