Proud to be an Indian

Like every year, today morning I was watching Republic Day celebrations being telecast from Rajpath, New Delhi.

The celebrations started with the unfurling of tricolour followed by the national anthem with a booming 21-gun salute. The parade commenced with President Ram Nath Kovind, the supreme commander of the armed forces, taking the salute.

Paying homage to freedom fighters, distributing galantry awards, showcasing military prowess,
youths displaying talents and skills, dances and tableaux from states depicting cultural diversity etc mark this auspicious day that really enthuse and fill us with the spirit of nationalism and patriotism.

Google has paid a beautiful tribute with a Google doodle that features Rajpath parade elements – animals, tabla, parade path, saxophone, doves and three colours of the Indian flag.

India is a plural society characterised by its unity in diversity that makes us feel to be proud of our rich heritage and of being an Indian. We have:
28 states
8 union territories
30 major festivals
22 languages
19500 dialects
but country one
that is India,
the largest democracy of the world.

While we rededicate ourselves to safety, security and sovereignty
on glorious 73rd Republic Day
we salute the very dignity
and pride of all nations
and their nationalities
flags and anthems
as we believe in
वसुधैव कुटुंबकम्
Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam
(the whole world is a family)

Happy Republic Day 🇮🇳

Vande Mataram 🇮🇳🇮🇳

  1. Thank you, Kaushal, for this illuminating post and the video. When I researched for my most read post ” India – Empire Of The Spirit”, I found this beautiful statement “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”
    – The whole world is a family on the wall of the Indian Parliament; as I have such affinity with India, I felt that I was part of this family.
    HAPPY REPUBLIC DAY!
