Mind Works As We Wish

We have seen cases of heartbreaks during the recently concluded Tokyo Olympics, where players despite their all out efforts, failed to get any medal🏅and there were ones, who had to content with the bronze.

One of the politicians, most of whom don’t know abc of sports and games questioned the celebration over occasional bronze medals. It’s not their business.

A silver 🥈 medalist is certainly happier than than the bronze 🥉medalist, but is it the end of the world?

The human mind doesn’t and shouldn’t work like mathematics- one plus one equal to two. It is flexible. We can make our minds work as we wish.

A bronze medalist may in fact be happier than a silver medalist, if he or she thinks, “At least I got a medal. Moreover, I won bronze after winning, while silver medalist won silver after losing.”

On the other hand, a silver medalist may repent, if he or she thinks, “Oh, I lost, I couldn’t win the gold medal.”

This happens in every sphere of life. We don’t appreciate what we have, but feel sad with what we don’t have. Nobody can have everything. A lion may be the king of the forest, but not of water or air.

Our happiness depends on our thoughts, we can complain that rose bushes have thorns or may be happy that there are beautiful and fragrant roses in thorn bushes.

It is upto us to see one day between two nights or one night between two days. It is our mindset whether we can see a bottle, half-full or half empty.

This is the life, beyond the idea of perfection. Despite giving our hundred percent, we cannot simply do away with certain ‘ifs’ and ‘buts‘.

We always feel that life of others is better than us, but we forget that we are also “others” for others. If we put our problems on a table with an idea to exchange them, I’m sure, everyone would like to take back his or her own.

Let’s be grateful for our blessings, for what we have. They far outweigh our troubles, if we start summing up.
