A Clear Path

The path was clear
in front of me,
I started immediately
walking gleefully..

on the way
I heard something,
I ignored..

a black cat
crossed the path,
I ignored..

someone then
walked ahead crying,
my attention got divided,
but kept walking at my pace..

Then I saw some juveniles
singing and cycling,
I started walking happily
at a faster pace..

after a few steps
a speeding car
abraded my skin,
I was shocked,
I halted then and there
to check all are good
but I kept on moving
though at a slower pace..

I reached my destination
finally with delay and breaks
carrying of course
a mixed bag of feelings..

I wonder now
whether a clear path
really exists in this world..

  1. Hmmm I sometimes wish that life were a clear path, but in reality I think it is not. Although, at times, I think humans make the path more complicated than it should be. Or maybe that is just me 🤔😊

    1. You’re right, it’s not only you, it happens with most of us. All are not born with a silver spoon. Thank you, Morag, for sharing your thoughts 🙏

  2. The clear path is only created by humans, not by the universe. It is us who should ignore any elections in times like the one we are living through, no weddings or festivals; but are we listening?

If we were determined, we could make the path of our life clear and leading towards the light of hope, but are we?

    1. Thank you, Joanna, for your well thought response. It is still not established whether covid was natural or man-made, and if the latter, who was responsible. At times, some things are beyond explanation. In Maharashtra and Delhi, there was neither election nor Kumbh festival, but these are the two worst affected states. Similarly, there are countries, including developed ones, that bore the brunt of virus.

      1. I just read a passionate post by a schoolgirl, Khushi (she is commenting on my blog), and this is where the information came from. In Delhi, there was a huge festival, I saw it in astonishment on the news, and you have seen it, and you wrote that they were barbarians!

      2. I remember, that was Holi. It was in some northern states too. Not in southern parts. But it’s a long discussion, there is no point discussing it again and again the same thing and having heartburns.

  3. Well said 👌
If we are satisfied with the path we are walking, then it’s already a clear path. Then It really doesn’t matter what other people say about it.😀😅

    1. It doesn’t matter what other people say or think. We should be satisfied of doing our best in the given situation. Thank you, Aparna for sharing your reflections 😊
