मुझे भी शिकायतें बहुत थी जिंदगी से,
आगे के लोगों को देख बेहतर हालत में…
देखा जब पलट कर बहुतों को मेरे पीछे,
तो खत्म हो गई सारी शिकायतें सभी से…
🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀
I once would grumble from morning till night,
Envious of people ahead, in a brighter light…
But when I glanced back at those far behind,
My complaints faded, bringing peace to mind…

We don’t need to look at what anyone else is doing. We are competing with ourselves.

That’s the best thing to do, competing with the self. Thank you very much, Mary!

Thank you, Kaushal, for reminding me that one should never compare with others, just be happy to be yourself!

Your poem leaves us with a clear lesson. By comparing ourselves to someone else, we lose sight of all that one has to offer the world and a unique way in which one can do so. Greetings KK

You’re right, Manuel, a flower blooms on its own without thinking of competing with the flowers next. Thank you for sharing your beautiful reflections!

So true, Kaushal. We do have a habit of comparing ourselves to others. The trick is keeping perspective and proportion to the forefront.

As another blogger wrote, we should only compare ourselves to ourselves, which is true and admirable. Some of us may use an external measure from time to time. I do that when I visit the orthopedic clinic. It gives me some perspective on how easily I walk, which I sometimes need that I could be much worse than much better. You are very welcome.

I believe I must look ahead of me. Not behind as I am not going that way.
