धर्म के नाम पर वे तलवार उठाते हैं,
लेकिन धर्म के मार्ग से भटक जाते हैं,
नफरत की नजर से लड़ते हर वक्त,
भूल जाते हैं धर्म को ही अपने जब तब…
👀👀👀👀👀👀
In the name of faith, they pick up the sword,
But its teachings’ essence, they often ignore…
Always ready to fight, with hate in their gaze,
Straying from virtue’s path, they often amaze…

It’s sad how religion separates us.

Yes, religion teaches us to love and respect each other, but people do the exact opposite.

What do you think is the main cause of this? Is it Ego, diversity in religion, or it’s human nature?

I think it’s because people tend to distort the religious teachings to meet selfish ends.

Absolutely right, Pat! We have abused our religions and their teachings. Thank you, Pat for your kind comment!

I have read in the US news about the rising restrictions on other religions than Hinduism. Is that an accurate report? (Please feel free to ignore the question if it is too intrusive or inappropriate.)

We live in a secular, democratic country. Everybody has right to freedom of speech. Moreover people like George Soros are also active to malign Modi, the most popular leader of today. Adverse reports are spread with a purpose.

Thanks, Kaushal. It could be a form of disinformation. We certainly have enough of that around here. I am not sure where I saw the information and was not sure of its veracity. Sorry if it was too invasive or inappropriate question.

No issue, Pat. Parliamentary elections are on, so campaigns are full of propagandas that carry no weight. Some vested interests in countries like US, UK and Canada are behind all sorts of misinformation. They openly support some opposition groups of our country. So it’s nothing unusual.

Thank you, Kaushal, for the words of your ditty that speak profound wisdom! When other countries fought and still are, your and mine beloved country embraced path of the spiritual development, as I wrote about in my post;
“India – the Empire of the Spirit”. It is still the country striving to help their people to live in peace and harmony, and with love.
Do you know that PM Modi stopped the war in the Ukraine for 3 hours to evacuate Indian students stranded there? They were so happy to be back home in the safety of India.
Thank you for the perfect image!

Thank you, Joanna, for your kind comment mentioning Ukraine! I remember some other students of other countries also got evacuated along with Indian students. Covid vaccines were also sent to some small needy countries free of cost on humanitarian grounds. Like you, Joanna, I too wish that better sense will prevail. Thanks a lot for appreciating the ditty.

Hate is a belief system that wears many hats, has many aliases, and is sometimes hard to recognize, even when looking it straight in its beady little eye. Sad.

Well said KK. Oft times the thin line between dharma and karma gets merged and one errs not knowing that one erred. That’s why they say ,”Be the change you wish to see in others”
