Once, I visited a hair salon for a trim. With age, my hair had thinned and grayed. During the haircut, the stylist suggested dyeing my hair black. Though I appreciated the suggestion, I prefer not to dye my hair. I joked with the stylist, remarking on the irony of spending years bleaching some strands only to consider dyeing them black again. The stylist chuckled, perhaps thinking me frugal.
Each stage of life holds unique meaning, beauty, and significance, and we should embrace our age accordingly. Yet, many resort to hair transplants, bariatric, and plastic surgeries in an attempt to deceive others and themselves.
Embracing our changing selves nurtures a life free from stress. As we gaze into the mirror, let’s embrace the genuine beauty within and take pride in it. Understanding our inner beauty outweighs the pursuit of external validation through flattering remarks.
But why? Why do we measure ourselves against others? Simply to triumph over them?
God has a different scheme of things. He has made us different, with different faces, different irises, different palm lines. Our chromosomes and genes also don’t match. Everyone’s zodiac sign and blood group cannot be the same.
The divine has a unique design for each of us. We bear distinct faces, irises, and palm lines, not to mention our diverse chromosomes and genes. The compatibility of zodiac signs and blood groups doesn’t align either.
While some finish their studies by 21, the journey to a fulfilling job may take years. Others stumble into success effortlessly, while some toil endlessly without reaping the rewards.
Life unfolds in unpredictable ways; there are those who ascend to the CEO role at 25 only to leave this world at 50, while others assume the position at 50 and thrive until 90. Barack Obama steps down at 55, while Donald Trump begins at 70.
Similarly, in academia, some students maintain a smile despite exam failures, while others shed tears over a single mark’s difference.”
Our sorrow isn’t rooted in our lacks, but in the possessions of others. Sometimes we perceive others as surpassing us, yet it’s worth noting that others are also trailing behind us.
Each individual occupies their rightful place in the world, each one unique. Comparison is unnecessary; you’re not behind or ahead, not inferior or superior. You’re just different from others. Embrace your differences and your unique position.
So stay joyful, stay chill, and savor each moment this life offers.

What a wonderful and uplifting reminder to celebrate our uniqueness! πππ How boring life would be if we were all carbon copies of each other. I have chosen to not dye my grey hair either….I always joke that I’ve earned each and every one of them, so I’ll wear them proudly. Lovely post, KK! πππ

Thank you, Kaushal, for your words of wisdom!βI wholly agree with your every thought! Life is an enigma, and we don’t understand the reasons behind what is called luck. As you know, I don’t visibly age but I know that one day, I will fall off the conveyor belt, even with a young face and no grey hair. You have once very wisely advised that I should just enjoy life without asking “Why”. I follow your kind words, Kaushal, and I am still here, doing what I love, writing about uniqueness and beauty of nature, and helping my wildlife friends.
Thank you for the perfect image!

Wonderful words of wisdom.βSometimes people make change for healthful reasons, not just vanity. Bariactric surgery may be one of those cases.βDying hair probably less so.

A very interesting piece which I’m sure will prompt many discussions. I have chosen to dye my grey roots as they appear and my reasoning is simple: my husband still has a full head of hair, sun-streaked light brown. As long as his hair has no grey, neither will mine. π

Thereβs two ways to look at this. If a person has crooked teeth, why not fix them. If we are trying to create a business, we must know what other similar businesses are doing. I think your point is that there is a healthy way to compare ourselves and an unhealthy way, where it goes overboard, and instead of turning ourselves into the best we can be, we turn ourselves into someone we dontβ even recognize anymore. This creates unhappiness within ourselves. THAT is the failing, going overboard. On the other side, I find it sad to see people not taking care of themselves, because they say they are old now, what does it matter. Life isnβt easy.
