😣 😣 😣 😣 😣 😣
Pain resides in every heart,
some endure it, others inflict it,
some pen it down,
while others simply read it,
and some let it fade
like wisps of cigarette smoke…

Pain equalizes, manifests the density and depth of man. The poem places it in the epidermis of the heart.

Reread “The Gift of Pain” by Dr. Paul Brand, the brilliant physician who did so much work in India to remove the stigmatism of leprosy. A fantastic read.

I love your response, ca. It’s so apt here. Though I haven’t read the book, I had read and article on Dr Paul Brand and still remember that suffering is a state of mind, and recovery depends on the mind and spirit of the person. Thanks again, I would like to read this book now.🙏💖

I think I am one who lets it fade like wisps of cigarette smoke. I certainly try to never inflict it. I fear I am not always successful.
