A New Chapter / एक नया अध्याय

One is going, another is coming,
one is the end,
the other is the beginning,
one is night, the other is morning,
one has remembrances,
the other has hopes,
one has experience,
the other has confidence,
one promises, the other keeps…

What one leaves,
the other happily adopts,
both look alike, but,
the identity of both is different,
the style is also different,
even then, both are connected
like the two ends of a thread,
complementing each other…

There is only one day difference,
one goes the other comes,
the month changes
and so does the year,
and we celebrate the coming,
not the going,
only when one goes
the other will come…

Come, let’s pick and collect
some of the choicest flowers,
lying scattered
in the garden of yesteryear,
in the book of memories
let’s keep a few roses,
each dry petal of which
will give comfort
when the leaves of life
flutter in the gusty winds…

Let’s think something new,
do something new,
and add a new chapter
in the book of life,
with some newness…

एक नया अध्याय

एक जा रहा है, तो दूसरा आ रहा है,
एक अन्त है, तो दूसरा शुरुआत,
एक रात है, तो दूसरा सुबह,
एक मे याद है, तो दूसरे मे आस,
एक को तजुर्बा है, तो दूसरे को विश्वास
एक वादे करता है, दूसरा उन्हें निभाता है…

जो एक छोड़ के जाता है,
उसे दूसरा खुशी से अपनाता है,
दोनों दिखते हैं एक जैसे,
पर पहचान अलग है दोनों की,
अलग है अंदाज़ भी,
पर दोनों जुड़े हुए है
धागे के दो छोर के जैसे…

फर्क सिर्फ एक दिन का है,
एक दूर चला जाता है,
तो दूसरा पास आ जाता है,
महीना बदल जाता है और साल भी,
और हम खुशियां मनाने लगते हैं
जाने का नहीं, बल्कि आने का,
एक जायेगा तभी तो दूसरा आएगा…

कल के बगीचे में
बिखर गए हैं
जो कुछ बेहतरीन फूल 
आइए उन्हें चुनकर समेट लेते हैं,
यादों की किताब में, आइए
सहेज लेते हैं चंद गुलाब,
जिसकी हर सूखी पंखुरी सुकून देगी,
जब सर्द हवा के झोंको से
जीवन के पन्ने फडफडायेंगे…

कुछ नया सोचते हैं,
कुछ नया करते हैं,
जीवन की किताब में
एक नया अध्याय जोड़ते हैं,
कुछ नए नयापन के साथ…
