रैलियां निकालते हैं नेता
लोगों से जुड़ने के लिए,
लेकिन लोग
उन्हीं रैलियों से बचते हुए
अपने घर या ऑफिस का
रास्ता ढूंढते रहते हैं…
🕳️🕳️🕳️🕳️🕳️🕳️
Leaders take out rallies
to connect with the people,
but people look
for their ways to go
to their homes and offices
avoiding those rallies…
–Kaushal Kishore
Thank you, Kaushal, for reminding us how uninteresting and self-serving those
rallies are.

You’re right, those are self-serving rallies that have no concern for general public. Thank you, Joanna!

Your poem demonstrates an excellent truth and that this is an international phenomenon for the self-serving.

Yes, Pat, there are instances when ambulances also get stuck in such pompous rallies. Thank you for appreciating the post

Some politicians have turned them into a farce and a wonderful opportunity to fleece people. Good poem.

This is an international form of crowd manipulation, not just an American aberration.

…and now in 2022, pandemics, are putting large rallies out of style. Someday, when everyone only lives online(sad day indeed) photos and videos of those old rallies will be exhibited in museums (also online) and in a few generations, people will find, them strange and impractical and from a less-advanced era….maybe:):) You started me thinking overtime Kaushal with this little thought. Loved it!

Thank you, Karima, for such a thoughtful response. You’re right, during pandemic, virtual rallies came into vogue, but now pandemic is over, and so in India, full-fledged rallies are on. No doubt, one day will come, when such massive rallies will be outdated.

Perhaps, just perhaps, the wise know that the path to those rallies/politicians may lead to destruction 🤔
