मेरी मुस्कान
तो अब भी वैसी ही है
जैसी पहले थी,
लेकिन तुम समझ नहीं पाए
उसमें छुपी खुशी को तब,
और न ही छुपे हुए गम को अब…
😊😊😊😊😊😊
My smile is still the same
as it was before,
but you could neither
understand the happiness
hidden in it then,
nor the sorrow hidden in it now…
–Kaushal Kishore

Goodness, Kaushal, where it is that you are sitting and sort of smiling?!
It looks like a public place, and as you are away from your beautiful home,
and loved ones, no doubt the sorrow crept in.

Not sitting, Joanna, standing inside Cairo museum. Incidentally today I got this photo, and hence this ditty. Thank you for your kind comment.

Ooh, what a powerful poem. Indeed, it’s had to detect the happiness or sorrow hidded in a smile. It just covers a multitude of issues

It’s sad that some people can never truly understand us. It hurts when the said people happen to be our loved ones

Wonderful, KK! Everyone longs to be understood. No one ever fully understands another. but as my mother used to say, “You might as well laugh as cry!” ❤

Your mother’s words are real pearls of wisdom that we tend to forget now. After all, joy and sadness are the two sides of the same coin. Thank you, Cheryl, for sharing your beautiful reflections 😊💖

In a noisy world, most can’t hear even when we speak crisp and clear, let alone hear the unspoken. Reading one’s happiness and sorrows are entirely different ball games. Important connection in the communication channel is an attachment between two brains beyond material matters.
Your smile is a gift. You are gifted.

I agree with you, Antony, there are so many communication barriers including mental ones that the meaning is lost or distorted beyond recognition. Thank you for reading and leaving your kind words that I truly appreciate.

These are powerful words KK. And such truth in them. A smile can hide sorrow . I hope your smile is not hiding too much sorrow or a serious sorrow.

Sweet smile, KK ☺️ Some only see the surface and what they want to see….they only see the smile on the lips, but not the heart and soul in the eyes that accompany it. Expertly said! 💞💞💞

Kaushal, may I ask you a strange question that has nothing to do with anything here? For a debate, I was wondering if you could tell me how the hospitals fared in India the 2nd half of 2021 and for 2022. Were they overwhelmed or at full capacity like they were in May of 2021? You don’t have to answer if you don’t want to or if you’re not sure. I was just curious if you knew. Thank you 🙂

Sorry, I don’t have data, but I had come across a news item that the earning and growth were impacted in H1 of 2021, but a sharp pullback was seen thereafter, and now it’s way to growth over pre- pandemic levels. Thank you 😊

Of a true, smiles does not sometime derscern the right state of the mind.
The mind maybe heavy, while the face is wearing an hypocritical grin.
Vise versa.
Your poem is educative.
