Basket of Memories

One day everything gets old,
days and nights also get old
and so do people and their things,
some come back
and repeat old things,
some never come back
and go in the blue folds of oblivion,
but their blissful memories
stay forever in and around me,
the basket of memories
gets heavier every day,
but I never feel heavy…

People ask me,
do they have the same memories
that you carry with you always?
I meekly ask,
if connection is necessary
for a relationship?
I have so many connections
in my contact list of cellphone,
but not all are in my heart…

My heart remains connected
to a few hearts that I adore,
irrespective of what they think,
every relationship has two ends,
I have kept my end alive,
when the other end feels so,
it can reconnect
with my ever willing heart
with a new freshness,
but with the same flavour…
