The path was clear
in front of me,
I started immediately
walking gleefully,
on the way
I heard something,
but I ignored,
a black cat crossed my path,
I again ignored,
someone then
walked ahead of me crying,
my attention got divided,
but I kept walking
at my own pace,
then I saw some juveniles
singing and dancing,
I started walking happily
at a faster pace,
after a few steps
a speeding car
abraded my skin,
I was shocked,
and halted then and there
to check all are good
but I kept moving
though at a slower pace…
Finally I reached
my destination
though with delay
and breaks here and there,
carrying of course
a mixed bag of feelings,
I wonder whether
a clear path really exists
and even if exists,
whether it’s worth following…

Great poem and question! I suspect clear paths may be boring or they may help with staying focused. I hope everyone has the proper tools to navigate whatever path they find themselves on. 🙂

Very well said, Sam! If one gets everything without making any effort, there will be no sense of achievement. After all, why does one like to scale Mount Everest? Thank you for taking your time to read and share your beautiful thoughts 😊💐

You’re right, Jasper, thank you for sharing it. An Irish proverb also says that making the beginning is one third of the work.

Yes, Joanna, any journey starts with first step. One has to make a beginning first. Rumi’s quote shared by you here is so true and apt. Thanks so much for sharing it.

We can’t expect a clear path even with the carefulness of planning. We are only one part of the picture.

The path certainly unfolds with or without us but the speed and choices we make truly do matter.. Love your poem. KK❣️

Sometimes we are delayed or rerouted for a reason…we may not see the danger on the supposedly clear path we are on. Very well written! 💞💞💞

The MIXED BAG, described nicely by you. All of us have to encounter such situation during course of our lives. Only the clear path in life is theoretically possible. Let’s help others, by the best ways possible to us.

Very well said, VM! A clear path is easy, but difficult to get, and even if you get one, you won’t have satisfaction to cross it. Thank you for sharing your kind thoughts.
