It makes a difference
when I keep myself in the dark
on my own volition,
and when someone close to me
keeps me in the dark…
It makes a difference
when I think myself crazy
for something or someone,
and when someone dear to me
starts calling me crazy…
It makes a difference
when I bear my own suffering,
and when it’s intentionally caused
by someone I consider mine…
It’s okay to laugh at myself,
but it makes a difference
when someone I like the most
begins to treat me
as an object of ridicule...
It’s good to play games,
but it makes a lot of difference,
when people start playing
with my feelings
and seek happiness by hurting me,
but they don’t know
I have inflicted more pains on myself
just to keep them happy…
If someone gets happy
I’m willing to cry,
I always keep handy a few tears
to lighten and enlighten myself
when no one is around me
carrying a bouquet of sympathy…

Kaushal you so well presented the jist of human kindness towards self and others. All your lines are gold. The following resonated with me:
“I always keep handy a few tears
to lighten and enlighten myself”
Oh wow! — profound!!

Amen my dear friend and so very true. When others ridicule it is often jealousy. It takes a lot to turn the other cheek but they are hurting. I am sorry my kind friend. 🦋❤️🙏 sending love and hugs

It’s different when we are being unkind to ourselves, that doesn’t mean we don’t want to be loved…..
It hurts when other people start seeing us the way we see ourselves….

You’re right, it happens. Mostly people are not bothered how we see ourselves. They see their own interests and sometimes get sadistic pleasure too by hurting others.
