A German poet was arrested
for writing poetry against Hitler…
his innocent daughter
asked her mother,
“But Hitler could have written
poetry against my father as well…”
her mother smiled and replied,
“If he could write poetry,
he would not have become Hitler…”

  1. Indeed Hitler wasn’t a poet at all. Even his pictures missed any creativity. His romantic drawings of buildings were technically not bad, but nothing special.
    Fine poetry, Kaushal Kishore πŸ˜ƒ

    1. You have used right word, frustrated artist. He was artist, but in cruelty and war-mongering. Thank you, Cheryl for reading and commenting πŸ˜ŠπŸ’–

      1. I have also read so many stories about him. He justified for his racism and his ideas of ‘purity of blood’. But a sane person cannot accept his reasons. Thank you, Cheryl for giving this input.

  2. The literati in the Soviet-occupied states in Europe, before the fall of the Iron curtain, mostly capitulated to writing and creating art that was in line with the ideology of communism. At least one man chose not to capitulate – CzesΕ‚aw MiΕ‚osz. He writes about this in the beginning pages of his book, The Captive Mind.
