The Eternal Love

The sky keeps looking
down at the earth
with love and admiration
and the earth keeps
looking up innocently at the sky
with expectations…

The distant sky keeps showing
signs of his infatuation
growing every day
by changing his hues at times,
while receiving the breath of love stealthily but consistently
from the beloved earth
through its plants and trees...

He treasures and preserves
the love so received
in the form of clouds
and waits for an opportune time
while the platonic love
keeps flourishing every day
and clouds keep floating and dancing…

When the intensity of love
gets heavier and heavier
to stay suspended any more,
the clouds engulf the whole earth
in their obliging arms
to soak the earth
with love streams of raindrops
satiating the thirsty earth…

And the earth in turn
smilingly and graciously
cherishes and absorbs
every single drop of love
in her eternal chest
flowing and skipping in fun
in ponds and rivers
like a young maiden
with greenish glow all over,
plants and trees
getting another lease of life
and start preparing once again
to give fruits, flowers and shelter…

Let these plants and trees stand tall
and communicate with the sky
without any interruptions
on behalf of lovely earth,
let this love affair thrive
and last forever…

    1. I’m so overwhelmed that this comes from the nature itself. Thank you, Joanna for always being here. Much appreciated!

    1. Thank you, Pat, probably in deserts, there is a communication barrier between sky and earth due to lack of plants and trees that act as antennae.
