The Real Experience

Being surrounded
by a crowd of people
may or may not be
a pleasant experience
but it gives the loneliest moments
that you may or may not realise,
though it does help know and identify
your own loved ones when in need…

But if you want to know yourself, solitude is absolutely necessary
and when the sound of solitude
of lone surroundings
becomes one
with the sound of your own solitude,
sound loses its relevance
you can breathe life into soul
that’s the moment of truth
that’s the confluence
of body, mind and soul,
when there is nothing to hide,
nothing to show,
whether you let out a loud guffaw
or a tear slides down your face
it’s pure and real,
there can be
no other real experience…

  1. This is wonderful! I am reminded of Simon & Garfunkel’s poignant song, “The Sound of Silence”. It’s wonderful to have good friends and family to surround us but the peaceful times of solitude are refreshing and beneficial to mind, body and soul.

    1. Well said, Nancy! Good and loving friends are like music, but one must have some ‘me time’ and personal space. Thank you for sharing your reflections.

You will like this comment from Albert Einstein:~

“Be a loner. That will give you time to wonder, to search for the truth. Have holy curiosity.
    Make your life worth living.”
