Till The Very Last

The path was unknown
but seemed a little familiar too
there was something blue
something foggy
under the clouds
calling me jubilantly
from my state of oblivion…

Excited, I went and watched
surprised to see a few men
trying to grow green vegetation
on that stony mountain,
the other group was attempting
to see roses and sunflowers
blooming amidst hawthorns and cacti,
a group was planting
manogoes, jamuns and neems
instead of pines and oaks
just below the virgin peaks,
I checked, they were not insane
they looked and talked like me
but they were trying
to explore new avenues,
opportunities and possibilities…

I had finally got
my long cherished destination
sprinkled with the essence
of learning and attempting
that enlightens
and energises my heart,
I know it’s not the end of the road
but I’m sure
it may last till the very last
where I can get my ikigai,
my purpose of life…

  1. Thank you, Kaushal, for another of your masterpieces in the philosophy of life’s thoughs.
The use of Japanese ikigai only adds together with the pictures to the brilliance of your
    creation.

    1. Thank you, Joanna, for your kind and thoughtful words, as always. But yesterday I missed your post. My Saturday evening is reserved for your post, but I was disappointed. Hope everything else is okay.

      1. Thank you, Kaushal, for mentioning my post. As you remember, I have a difficult court case going on, and that was one of the weeks when I had to fill in many papers. Now, that this is done, I should be able to present next week’s post as usual. Things are going in the right direction but
        post-pandemic very slowly indeed.
Thank you again for your kindness!
