Rain Rain Come Again

Rain rain come again
once again dance with me
soak me, my limbs, my clothes
with your love drops
that will tickle my sense organs
getting wet with exhilaration
racing down the past memories…

Come again and soak my fields
my plants and trees
will get a respite from the heat
and a new lease of life…

Sprinkle again some nectar drops
on the wings of my birds
they won’t blame you
they were building their nests relentlessly
with dried grass and straw
in scorching sun
just to enjoy your gift of love…

Let the full sky bend over me
let the clouds thicken and thunder
adding it’s music
to your soft pitter-patter
on the inviting leaves…

Let the cool wind blow again
stroking the spirit
of all the living beings
small and big
embracing and refreshing them
and surroundings
with the newfound petrichor…

Let your streams shower gifts
in all directions once again
fogs may take shape
dark shadows may also appear
in a soothing way
but the intermittent flashes
of lightning snaking through the air
will recompense
the absence of sun, moon and stars…

Light, sound and music
fragrance and soulful lyrics
of nature
will again herald the arrival
of fun and frolic
and the birth of an eternal song
soaking the mind too…

Rain rain come again…

    1. Thank you, Joanna for your appreciation. Here in India, there are so many rituals for bringing rains. But it’s bad to see our children chanting nursery rhyme, rain rain go away.

    1. Wow! So nice! I had read it during my childhood, as some of the stories were also part of our syllabus. Enjoy reading it.

    1. That’s really good. Monsoon has arrived here, but not in full swing. We are waiting eagerly to get drenched. Thank you, Cheryl, for your kind words 😊💖
