पेड़ की छांव मे कभी वह
बैठते थे अति प्रीति से,
पर यह बैठना अति भिन्न है
उस बैठने की रीति से…

He once used to sit
very lovingly
in the shade of a tree,
but this sitting is
quite different from the way
he used to sit…

Our minds and thoughts most certainly affect our experiences in everything we do. Nice thought provoking piece KK. Blessings to you. 🤗❤️

Yes, Joni, we do what’s more convenient at the moment without thinking of the consequences. Thank you for liking and commenting 😊💖

“You can never go home again!” This expression springs to mind upon reading your poignant and thought-provoking poem, KK.
As a child, I used to climb to the top of a huge magnolia tree that grew in the churchyard and spent many hours among the fragrant flowers surveying the surrounding countryside. Looking at a recent online photo, I searched for the tree, but it was gone. The tree lives on in my memory, but in time, I too will be gone. The tree lives on in a poem, but that too may soon be forgotten.

Very well said, Cheryl. Its happening everywhere and that’s exactly what I wanted to put across through this poem. I had seen a picture that shows a man sitting under an umbrella kept over tree, whose branches have been chopped off. I couldn’t post it because of copyright issue, but idea emerged in the form of this poem. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful reflections 🙏💐

This tree doesn’t offer any shade as it is just bare, Kaushal. There would be no point of sitting under but resting against it is another matter.

That’s exactly the point I was making, Joanna, that once he used to sit under the dense shade of a tree, but now he has to sit this way (without a shade). This shows human stupidity in cutting trees. Thank you so much for sharing your views.

Thank you, Kaushal, for making this point; I love trees as if I was related to them, and of course, I am as together with rivers and plants, we are part of the universe.

सही है इंसान प्रकृति के प्रेम के काबिल नहीं
इसीलिए जो उसका है वह भी उसे हासिल नहीं
