Bringing the moon and stars
flying high in the sky
the possibilities are limitless,
wishes are also many,
but these have no meaning
if there is no moisture of love
on the dry surface of the hearts
of the people around us…
We wish to get the one
who is faraway
but keep aloof from near ones,
we get neither this nor that,
like the two banks of a river
we keep looking at each other
behind a shield of cold indifference,
but we don’t see the serenity
flowing in the middle,
that connects the two…

Just casting a stone of love
across the undulating waters
of the river
will have a ripple effect on hearts drenching them
with the pearly dews of love,
then there will be no need
to bring anything or fly..
currents flowing from heart to heart
will light up the lives
and the cool winds rising therefrom
will bring the moon and stars for us…

Thank you so much, Kaushal, for this most beautiful and profoundly inspiring poem!!
I will have to copy every verse in my book as I love every word,
and want to learn it by heart.

This beautiful poem hits close to home for me, KK. There is someone on the other bank who has, over the years, systematically distanced himself from various other family members. I feel his pain. It makes me sad for us and for him.

It happens, Cheryl, everywhere. The reasons may vary, but it’s difficult to change one’s nature. Thank you for reading it and resonating well with me.
