Innocent

A few shining drops of dew
had made an innocent flower
that chilly morning
more beautiful
with the infant rays of sun
passing through those droplets making it more beaming
and bewithcing…

I was still quivering
the cold breeze was still blowing
I couldn’t ascertain
the direction of wind
but a wave of emotions jolted me
at the sight
of those innocent droplets…

in one deep corner of my heart,
I had an apprehension
whether the last shivery night
had sent shivers down its spine
that brought tears
on its soft petals,
when I was sleeping comfortably
under velvety blankets
within the safe confines
of my four walls…

I’m not sure

whether I should also disregard
the feelings of pain and vulnerability
in my quest
for fragrance and beauty
and all what I wish…

  1. Your poetic power, Kaushal, is here in full force, as you describe the droplets of dew as “tears”
    of the chilled flower!!
I love the poem, your empathy with plants, and the beautiful photos.
    Thank you!!

    Love these lines:

    “whether I should also disregard
the feelings of pain and vulnerability
    in my quest
    for fragrance and beauty’
