My Little World

I have my own little world
where the sun plays hide and seek
hiding at times behind my back
the moonlight also gets scattered
before reaching my world
under the veils of the cloud,
at times interrupting my dreams
to set up and decorate this little world
with humming of my lyrical wishes…

When breathing in this little space
gets disturbed
I open my door and windows
deepen the intake of fresh air
the rays of hope always flicker
across my face
through the canopy
of my intermittent pains and happiness…

Flowers, fragrance, beauty
and this open environ
all lead me somewhere
when I find myself
at the end of the horizon
where choice is mine
and I yield to temptations
wish to play with temptations
but I select the ‘selects’ of the colour
that I love for myself and for my little world,
O God, give me time and space
to immerse myself in this little world…

  1. A lovely piece, Kaushal.
The poetry of philosophy woven imagery of life’s purpose and measure.
    Love your lines:

    “I find myself
at the end of the horizon
    where choice is mine.”

It’s the choice that adds richness, and more, to the journey, indeed.
    Great piece of writing!

  2. God, give me time and space
to immerse myself in this little world… I like that line. We often don’t take the time or make the space to immerse ourselves in it. And we miss out on appreciating so much.
