A Thread of Love

Corona is receding*
malls and theatres are opening
schools and colleges too
amidst the threat of third wave
everything looks normal
but with an abnormal heaviness in heart
and a vacuum of wordage…

A few shops remain closed
including the dispensary of that affable physician
that vegetable vendor is also not seen
children miss its most gregarious teacher…

Festivals are also back
but not with the same flavour for all families something missing terribly for them
memories are left
fresh memories take time to fade…

Complaints or compliments hardly matter but what matters is
the difference of just one night
between yesterday and today
a slight difference in living and not living
but a big difference in being alive, and in living
living a lively life…

It’s our good luck
to have good people in our life
let us keep them intact
let’s not leave anyone alone
let’s not allow
even a needle to prick
extend it a thread of love
to ensure that it is not lost
it will help connect with others
with love day after day
even a single day matters
also a single moment of love and life…
