The arms of glasses
fit over ears and tell them
to listen attentively
to what the eyes see…
Now the mask
also reminds them
to continue listening
even if the mouth remains shut…
Ears are overburdened
with music of nature
to connect with hearts…
–Kaushal Kishore
The ear has much work to do.

Listening is more important than speaking. That’s why we have two ears, but one mouth that has also to eat.

A mask is not good for the ears. It hurts but keeps you safe.🙂

My two little ears, so much to hear
That too with care, may far or near
It has to bear , burden of waves in air
Never mind dear, the mask we wear
It’s for our safety , till corona is clear

Your response poems are always amazing. Thank you so much.
Ears have to do much work, as they are avenue to the heart. That’s why ear comes within heart, i.e. h(ear)t.

Now, KK, you’ve struck a chord with me! As I grow older my hearing is reduced and I realise that I have been lip-reading for years like everyone else only didn’t realise it. The face mask simply highlights my poor hearing. However, I abide by the restrictions, it is for all of us! 🙏

Sorry to know about this, Ashley. It’s really appreciable that you take such things in right perspective. I have seen some relatives using hearing aids, but lip-reading is something different. Covid has changed our lifestyles.
