The Word Arranger

KK

I’m neither a poet nor a writer
I’m just a word arranger
taking words that are already there
in written or spoken forms
in a dictionary or a thesaurus
or in myriad books and scriptures
in various languages and dialects…

I just weave them together
adding my own interpretation
based on what I receive
through my ears, eyes and heart
from my people and surroundings…
I’m not a creator of any word
or a poetic form
I claim no ownership, no copyright…

I yearn, groan and long
for right words
dithering and gaping all the way
like a thirsty cloud in hearts
like a thirsty fish in sands…
it’s this thirst, this craving
that makes me what I’m…
nothing else..

  13. I have read a story long back. A man came to the great Hindi author Premchand and told him that he has written a piece and every word he has conceived of is by himself. Premchand smiled and told him even the great author himself cannot claim ownership of every word as all of them are present in dictionary… Everyone writing a good piece is humble and so are you sir.

    1. Thank you Kumaresh for your kind words and such a beautiful story I was not aware of. Premchand was a great storyteller. I still read his novels and stories, even at the cost of repetition. I’m just a small fly. कहां राजा भोज कहां गंगू तेली।

    1. यह रानी पद्मावती का कुआं तो नही, पर यह 300 वर्षीय प्राचीन दूदू का सुरम्य तालाब राजस्थान में ही है, जिसकी प्राकृतिक छटा दर्शनीय है। यह गांव मौजमाबाद से 12 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर जयपुर अजमेर राजमार्ग पर स्थित है। यह सतमंजिला बावड़ी है पर दो मंजिल ही दिखती है।शेष पांच मंजिल जल में छुपी हुई है।

  20. Lovely 🙂
    I am not a writer, but I write daily
    It is a habit, believe me, really
    I am not a poet
    But I write verses to express
    When my lips remain silent and pressed
    I use another feeling and like my very own
    I have a heart that can signal all zones.

  21. We creative people create new things out of the old, plain, mundane, discarded bits and pieces of words, phrases or images making up new unique combinations that dazzle or speak to passersby and readers. You are appropriated by many 🌈🌷🙋‍♀️
