We Only Live Once

This life is
neither big nor long,
neither sweet nor sour,
neither hope nor despair,
neither a journey
nor a destination,
it is just beautiful,
it is as joyous as we think..

if we don’t enjoy our life,
its worthless,
we don’t have a life at all..

if we don’t enjoy
both highs and lows,
if we don’t take everything
as parts of life,
we have not understood
what is life..

we only live once
yes WOLO
and if we don’t experience
all facets of life,
we can’t say with confidence
that we have lived
our lives fullyโ€ฆ

    1. Of course, it is painful. But they should also try to find happiness in their lives. Thinking about genetic diseases, or problems faced won’t make them feel any good. It’s important to accept the flaws, shortcomings and deficiencies…life’s all about pain and pleasure, right??

    2. Thank you Joanna for taking time to comment. I have seen a person happy and enjoying life with one leg using crutches. Good or bad, life is only one, unless we believe in reincarnation.

      Dr. Viktor Frankl in his book, “Man’s Search for Meaning” had written that suffering is an ineradicable part of life, without which life cannot be complete. I have also stated in the poem that one should experience all facets of life. What I feel that we should live with and maximise our happiness with whatever God has given.

    for us same we also do our duties for our parents and children .
    When our parents need us we must help them and our Karma

  23. I read/heard somewhere that, “You die only once, you live everyday till then.” and it has changed my perspective towards life for good.

    We don’t know when will we receive our final call, so until then live everyday to the fullest and enjoy every moment of your life. Do what you always wanted to do, don’t procastinate and add it to your bucket list to be done at some other right time. As we have also heard, “Kaal kare so aaj kar, aaj kare so ab. Pal mein pralay hoyegi, bahuri karego kab?”
