My City’s Destiny

Today another collision
on a crowded road..

injuries, scratches
and casualties
skirmishes
public anger, sabotage,
arson and traffic jam
arrival of police..

demands raised for
road divider
one-way road
speed breaker
road- widening,
demands accepted..

tears flood eyes
in police stations
and hospitals..

the night went by
the things forgotten..

no lessons learnt..

the next day,
the same crowd,
the same collision
and the same sequence
of events..

perhaps this is
acceptable to my city,
it’s its destiny..

  1. People can be so reckless while driving. Everyday as I commute to office, I come across a lot of irresponsible and reckless drivers. Great post. This is so relevant especially now when people are in a mad rush to buy things before the shops close!

    1. Yes, this is not the story of my city only. Everywhere we come across such recklessness, also on empty roads. Thanks for sharing your beautiful reflections 🙏💐

  2. It sounds like a certain place I know.

But it is extremely disheartening to know that something can be done to avoid this roller coaster 🎢 from hell. Yet, absolutely nothing is done.

May we and our loved ones be protected. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
